I Really Like You

I wrote and recorded an album the other day! The entire thing was done in 8 hours. The album is dedicated to a girl named Rachel.
Tracklist:
- Fort of Complete Acceptance
- Waking Up Next to You
- I Really Like You
- Bittersweet
- Past & Future
I used the free program Audacity to record everything through a cheap little Logitech microphone. Instruments I played include a Denver quarter-size acoustic guitar with plastic strings, an Epiphone SG electric guitar through a Peavey Rage 158 amp, a MicroKORG synthesizer, a crappy old BluesBand harmonica, and a dirty little toy tambourine I fished out of a lake. All the vocals are also done by me (and I have literally no experience with singing so brace yourselves).
I'm really happy with the result, especially considering the fact that it all only took 8 hours!
You can download the full album for free here.
Labels: album, I Really Like You, music, not-game-related

Wow, I'm jealous of Rachel now! :O
Wow, Bittersweet has a really great mood, easily the standout of the bunch. Reminds me of the Broken Cave Robot sounds, which were also wonderful. I have to say though, I'm not sure about the solo in the title track. Doesn't quite sound right to me. But overall, cool stuff! I like your acoustic music a lot and hope you continue to make it alongside the digital stuff.
stick to making games bud. your much better at that. it was ok at best but ncie try.
Harsh! I'm really proud of the album and plan on continuing to make music as well as games - but thanks for listening anyways!
Listening to it atm, pretty awesome, been doing recording/writing lately myself so its all the more interesting to listen to. The vocals were a little muffled but they sound pretty mint on headphones. Some of the lead work is out of time too, I'd recommend making a midi drum track to record to just to keep everything in sync but I know audacity can be really bad for delaying.
Hope you continue to pursue some more stuff like this :)
Sorry to say this Matt but Calvary is right. You're a creative genius when it comes to making games, but unfortunately this music doesn't sound good. (And if makes my opinion any more valid, if I remember correctly from the AUS credits page we have similar taste in music - Porcupine Tree and Tool are two of my favourite bands).
However that shouldn't stop you making music if you find it enjoyable. I'm posting this message from an old blog account where I made dark ambient music. It's not very good but I had a lot of fun making it.
